That night was a full moon night. The radiant moon had risen in the sky, as if it had come to bear witness to the love of Pari and Shayer. Through the slight gap of the window, moonlight trickled in, drop by drop. The lantern’s glow seemed completely forbidden tonight. In that silvery glow, Shayer admired Pari’s beauty.
Just a while ago, the two had been sitting in the small courtyard of the house—under the open sky, with a gentle breeze, and a little love. As if life could go on forever in just this way.
Pari moved a little closer to Shayer. Yet, there was no space left between them—not even enough for a pin to fall. At her action, Shayer smiled, a smile his wife could not see. Bringing his lips near Pari’s ear, he whispered,
“If only I had the power to hide you inside my body, I would.”
A wave of bliss ran through Pari. This was exactly what she wanted. After all, how many women are willing to share their husbands? The very thought that she was spending such a beautiful moment with Shayer sent shivers through her. In her mind, there was no room for another woman in his place.
Shayer drew even closer to Pari. Just then, a knock came at the door. Someone was rapping loudly, insistently. Shayer grew annoyed—the beautiful moment had been ruined so quickly!
Irritated, Shayer asked,
“Who is it?”
